River trip

We had a great weekend! It started with Bryan's mom coming in to visit us Friday. She hadn't seen Dawson since he was about 4 days old and still in the NICU. She was pretty amazed by him we think, and infatuated too! We then had a wedding to go to that Bryan was in. Our good friend Nick got married and Grammy and Auntie Carol watched Dawson for us so we could go and have a good time. Then today we took Dawson to the river for the first time. It was so much fun! Then after that we had a family BBQ and got into a huge game of Catch-Phrase, we are such a board game type family! We are sad to see Grammy go, but we think we will be going to see her at Christmas and hopefully she can come down for Dawson's first birthday!

Dawson loved his Grammy's shoes! The little pull tab was a great teething toy!

Even though the water was a little cold, Dawson loved sitting in it and playing with the rocks and dirt.

I think I am in love! He is the best thing in the whole world!

A great week!

We have tried to do a lot this week since I have to go back to work soon! Besides ddep cleaning the house, which is very difficult to do with a crawler..., we went for some great walks, went to the coast to visit Daddy and get to play with family!

We went for a family walk the other morning! Dawson was very ready to go!

We decided to it was the last Monday before schools tarted that we could go over to the coast to meet Bryan. I am so glad we did! The weather was beautiful!

Ready for the beach!

Just too cute!

Dawson's first footprint in the sand.

Since Molly was feeling better, we took her with us! She wasn't the same but seemed to have fun still.

The Elk heard we had to stop for on our way home!
Dawson is really starting to crawl fast! I can't hardly keep up. He has begun to pull himself up on things like my legs, the couch... but today during naptime, when I went to check on him, this is what I found:

Standing up all by himself during naptime

And he promptly sat down when I walked into the room.

Then he decided to try again! I am afraid he will be walking very soon. He has no fear!

23 weeks - 28 weeks

It looks like the last post deleted all my blog and left the pictures... I'll have to update farther back than I thought :)

We have been introdcuing Dawson to a new food each week. He has loved green beans, carrots, peas, and especially the squash. He has also started to eat breakfast and isn't that big of a fan of the bananas or pears. I think they may be too sweet for him still. He can sure eat a ton! We just started him on a sippy cup with water and he thinks that is the greatest, although he usually gets more water on him than in his mouth!

Loving his food!

Not liking bananas so much!

He has grown like crazy. We had his 6 month check up last Tuesday and found out he had grown 3 and 3/4 inches in a month! He is now 27 3/4 inches tall and in the 89 percentile. He weighs 17 pounds 8 ouncesand is pretty average at 52 %. He still has a pretty little head coming in at the 19%. He is wearing all his 6 month clothes, although they are still pretty big on him! I cna't beleive how much he has grown and how much he looks like a little boy instead of a baby.

We have got to see a lot of family lately and are looking forward to seeing bryan's mom next week! Uncle Brent came up to visit and stayed a few extra days so Dawson really got to play with him! My nephew came in from Baltimore and we had a big family get together with everyone. It has been a great summer!

Speaking of summer, it is coming to an end much too fast! I go back to work August 31. Although I have realized that I don't make a great stay at home mom, I sure am going to miss Dawson every day. He will be going to back to my friend Renee's this year while I am working. It is the best situation and has really worked out for all of us! Dawson loves going over there and her kids love having someone to play with!

And now for the BIG news! Dawson is officially crawling! The day he turned 6 months old, he took off and hasn't stopped since! He is speedy and knows where he wants to go! Since we have hardwood floors, we ended up getting him the cutest little knee pads to protect his little knees, he loves them! He also has started to pull himself up on things and does te bear crawl! It is really time to baby proof the house! He will be walking before we know it!
